Introduction: Week 1

Hello to everyone, my name is Jesus Hernandez and I am currently an English Major here at Cal State University Northridge. I work part time at the Oviatt Library here on campus and enjoy reading, it helps me relax.

Media Technology, if used effectively, could be a great tool for teaching. In today's age of technology it seems everyone gets their information from the internet, television, radio or other forms that connects people in a much broader aspect. Its just that these technological tools don't tend to be regulated or monitored, therefor the information and content people are getting could be false or greatly distorted. It is up to future teachers, parents and civic leaders to use Media Technology correctly and effectively in order to get their point accross and educate the young. I've had some professors at the college level that used Media Technology effectively to help students connect the content in class with daily events in the real world. The You Tube video clips and power point presentations with media clips were used effectively because they where short and to the point. Those video clips helped me think critically on the events that where going on around me.
